WELCOME
TO TRES PIEDRAS COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT
A New Charter School in Tres
Piedras
As we reported in the July newsletter - a group of local moms are getting together to bring the school back to
Tres Piedras. Based on the number of positive
responses we have received, we have decided to move forward with our official application to operate a charter school
in this area.
Based on the timeline for a New Mexico Charter Application, our estimated opening
date will be September 2013. At this time, we are officially seeking families in the Mesa Vista school district
and surrounding areas (including Tres Piedras, Carson,
the Greater World community, and Cerros de Los Taos - Two Peaks and Three Peaks) who may be interested in enrolling
their children in a charter school in Tres Piedras in
2013. If you have children in this area, and may be interested in enrolling them in our future
charter school, please call Amanda Allalunis at 575-737-9059 or e-mail her at amandaallalunis@tpce.org to get your children on our interest list. Placing your children on this list will not require you to enroll your children
in the school, it will primarily be used to prove that there is a sufficient level of need and interest in this area to support
a new school. Please help us spread the word about this amazing opportunity for our area. If you have any questions,
or want additional information, call Amanda or send her an e-mail.

ABOUT T.P.C.E AND TRES PIEDRAS
Tres Piedras -
The name means "Three Rocks" and, while this rural community certainly has the rocks to live up to this title, its
name does little justice to the beauty and serenity one finds in our town.
Located in Taos County, Tres Piedras is home to a remarkable mix of people, many
of whom are living minimalist lives with solar-powered dwellings and rain catchment systems instead of public water wells.
Any person so inclined can find a breathtaking variety of outdoor activities, from hiking in the Carson National Forest, to
bicycling the multiple peaks in the area, to climbing the rocks for which Tres Piedras is named. Truly, when it comes to natural
wonders and spectacular views, Tres Piedras is ahead of all competition. However, while the town has character
in spades, we currently lack a common gathering place or even the basic "luxury" of a local gas station.
Tres Piedras Community Enhancement is a nonprofit corporation formed by members of the Tres Piedras community in an effort
to establish such a gathering place in the form of a community center. It is our hope that, through the creation of
a community center in this town, TPCE will be able to enhance the quality of life for all residents of the area and providing
a meeting place with which to unite the community. If
you are interested in learning more about TPCE, or if you would like to find out how you can help, take a few moments to explore
this website or contact us for more information. Together we will make Tres Piedras a better place to live!
