TPCE Board Meeting Results

T
he Tres Piedras Community Enhancement Annual Community Meeting was held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Tres Piedras Fire Station.  We had an excellent turn-out at the meeting this year, with many community members attending to vote for new TPCE board members, ask questions, voice concerns, and show their support for the efforts of the organization to bring a community center to Tres Piedras.

Some of the topics discussed at this meeting included an annual report in which the community was informed of the efforts of TPCE over the past year.  In addition to bringing broadband internet access to the residents of Tres Piedras, TPCE has also been working hard at fundraising efforts and obtaining community support and input through outreach initiatives such as the community survey (still available in the front room of the Tres Piedras Post Office.)

Future goals for the community and TPCE were also discussed.  The major goals for this year include the acquisition of formal nonprofit status through a 501(c)(3) application, the acquisition of property (we are currently looking into the possibility of obtaining some donated property across the street from the post office), and the possible acquisition of a building.

The final order of business for the evening was the election of 8 new board members to the TPCE Board of Directors.  The community members elected are: Amanda Allalunis, Alice Ko, Andrea Kyte, John Grasso, Eve Ribas, George Allalunis, John Holcombe, and Sandra Russell.

The new board will be holding its first meeting on Tuesday, August 3rd at 6:00pm at 15 Redondo Rd (the first house behind the post office to the right.)  All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend any and all board meetings.  Please call 737-9059 with questions or for directions to the meeting location.

NOTE: A complete overview of the meeting is available at the Tres Piedras post office on the bulletin board, or you can visit www.tpce.org to download the minutes.
